One pool of 9 teams plays a round robin. Top 2 teams play the gold medal game. 3rd and 4th teams play the bronze medal game. 5th and 6th teams play a placement game for 5th-6th place. 7th and 8th teams play a placement game for 7th-8th place. 9th team does not play any more games.

One pool of 6 teams plays a round robin. Top 3 teams move to Pool B. 4th, 5th and 6th teams move to Pool C. All games are replayed, no scores are carried forward from the first round. Top 2 teams from Pool B play the gold medal game. 3rd team from Pool B and 1st team from Pool C play the bronze medal game. 2nd and 3rd teams from Pool C play a placement game for 5th-6th place.

One pool of 5 teams plays a double round robin where each team plays each other team twice. The order the games in the second round will be determined after the first round is over. Top 2 teams play the gold medal game. 3rd and 4th teams play the bronze medal game. 5th team does not play any more games.

Two pools of 6 teams play a round robin. Top 2 teams of each pool move to Pool C. 3rd and 4th teams of each pool move to Pool D. 5th and 6th teams of each pool move to Pool E. All previous scores from the first round are carried forward to the Pools D-E. Top 2 teams from Pool C move to the semifinals. 3rd and 4th teams from Pool C and 1st and 2nd teams from Pool D play crossover games and the winners of those games move to the semifinals. The losers of the crossover games play a placement game for 5th-6th place. 3rd and 4th teams from Pool D and 1st and 2nd teams from Pool E move to a 4 teams placement bracket for 7th to 10th place. 3rd and 4th teams from Pool E play a placement game for 11th-12th place.

Two pools of 5 teams play a round robin. Top 2 teams of each pool move to Pool C. 3rd, 4th and 5th teams of each pool move to Pool D. In Pool C all games are replayed. All previous scores from the first round are carried forward to Pool D. Top 2 teams from Pool C move to the semifinals. 3rd and 4th teams from Pool C and 1st and 2nd teams from Pool D play crossover games and the winners of those games move to the semifinals. The losers of the crossover games play a placement game for 5th-6th place. 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th teams from Pool D move to a 4 teams placement bracket for 7th to 10th place.

One pool of 7 teams plays a round robin. Top 3 teams move to Pool B. 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th teams move to Pool C. All games are replayed, no scores are carried forward from the first round. Top 2 teams from Pool B play the gold medal game. 3rd team from Pool B and 1st team from Pool C play the bronze medal game. 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams from Pool C do not play any more games.
